I cannot believe that my father is retiring. He is such a hard worker and has always worked assembling things firstly doing RTA kitchen cabinets and then later moving on to wooden tv stands. To me he is just about work, his life revolved around it. He loved being able to provide for the family and did everything that he could to do so. He didn’t work long hours, because he liked to see the family too but he worked hard and was always at work on time and left a bit late every day. I always wanted to see what he was like at work as always thought he came across as a fantastic professional, always working to his full potential. When I was at school I used to imagine what he was doing at work and I always thought it would be fun to put together the RTA cabinets and I wished that I could do the job too. Unfortunately I have grown up as a completely impractical person and am much more suited to academic work, which is what I do. It seems a shame that now he is retiring there s n one to take over but I hope that I can make my own small impact, be it in a different trade.
